Coots. There is a reason we constantly look to replace/upgrade/trade Schenn.
The only thing I've never agreed with in coots is that he is/was a 2C. I felt like that he was being forced there hypothetically by fans.

For the record, i'm with Couturier every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

What he lacks in points scored he makes up in points denied.

Oh...we have a Schenn vote. Thought JTown would cast the 1st vote but I was wrong.

But FWIW, I have seen people say they would trade Schenn for a mid 1st in this draft. I certainly would not do that either. No reason at all to trade him IMO.

Neither. Both are to slow and watching another playoffs neither would fit on any of the clubs that made it. Hexy should drop both and change this team up.

The combo of Courtier's line + Provorov's pairing on the ice against other teams' top lines is going to be vital to winning in the playoffs.

Coots but it is not an easy decision. Coots needs to be strictly a third line, defensive specialist, even if he has the potential to be a point producer with the right weapons. He's more valuable on the defensive end putting up lower points (unless we can find a better or comparable defensive guy). Schenn is no slouch, despite what people on here seem to think. 50+ point wingers are not easy to find.

I just find this thinking so odd.

When we make up the lineups, we do so 5vs5. And 5vs 5, Couts was our best goal scorer and point producer even though he missed 16 games. Who cares where Couts is "penciled" in, that line will outscore the opponent. And as we know, he ALWAYS goes against teams top lines so he is in the most defensive spot every night.

I LOVE the fact that we are getting the #2 pick to hopefully add a point producing C to our lineup. We need it and hopefully will cause matchup issue for other teams. Then maybe our soft, poor skating, weak shooting "3rd line C" won't have to be our top goal scorer and point getter 5vs5.

Side note.....one of the 3 Schenn voted is from our favorite NJ Devils fan who yet again, seems to be very curious on what the Flyers fans are saying/doing.

I make this argument all the time. Couturier has a cap friendly contract and is the type of player needed to win playoffs. He doesn't score a lot, but we don't have him to score. We have him to shut down Malkin.

Coots...its much easier to replace a scoring winger than a shutdown center that can score 5v5.

So, we've had "Is Schenn a core player?", "Will Couturier get 50 points", and now we have this...
Might as well start a Schenn/Couturier Megathread...

I hate the off-season...
