If you had the chance to name a captain for each country in the World Cup, who would be your choice?

Here's my captain list :

- Sweden : Sundin
- USA : Chelios
- Czech Republic : Reichel
- Finland : Koivu
- Russia : Fedorov
- Canada : Sakic
- Slovakia : Palffy
- Germany : Sturm

It's your turn.

They've been losing a lot of tournaments since he got the "C".

Pretty bang on. But if he's healty, I think that Lemieux should be Canada's captain. Just to take the brunt of the media and all that.

Canada - Yzerman (duh)
U.S. - Tkachuk (Modano had an embarrasing season)
Sweden - Forsberg (give him a chance to lead, he will be great)
Slovakia - Chara all the way, he dominates, leads by example
Czechs - Jagr is no leader, go with someone like Rucinsky(character guy)
Finland - Koivu
Russia - need to focus on defense, so someone like Kasparaitis (not Fedorov)
Germany - Kolzig

how can people even THINK of naming somebody other then Mario for team Canada (Mario being hurt and not playing is the ONLY way in the world he won't be the Captain, Gretz has said that much, and nobody is as big in that room as he is, not Yzerman, not Sakic, nobody).

mucho respect to LEMIEUX. however, although he is the most talented player on their team, he is not the best leader. a captain needs to also be a great leader, and the best leader they have is no doubt YZERMAN.

Canada - Lemieux (for sure)
U.S. - Tkatchuk
Sweden - Sundin
Finland - Selanne
Russia - Fedorov (time for him to step up as a real leader)
Slovakia - Satan
Germany - Sturm
Czech - Lang

I think Czechs should try with Lang cause everybody expects way too much from Jagr, so Lang would be a good choice if you want to take the pressure off their biggest star.
Satan was allways captain and they did it great while he was, and I don't see any reason to pick Palffy or Chara(!?!). By the way Palffy almost saw no action this season!!!

I'd see Summanen more likely to favour boys he knows, giving the C to Koivu because he is Finland's captain, A to Numminen because well, he's been here since day 1, and A to Jokinen who he's coached at HIFK and was the captain at this years world championships..

Previously Selänne has had an A, but I don't think it's smart to give it to him, would be better to give it to Jokinen as he's currently the successor #1 to Koivu as national captain, and might as well start now giving him responsibility.

All I can say is, Wilson better not have Modano be his captain...the C is like kryptonite to him. It should probably be Chelios, Leetch or Roenick.

Canada--Lemieux (should be Yzerman though)
USA--Chelios
Sweden--Lidstrom
Finland--Koivu
Russia--Fedorov
Slovakia--Palffy
Germany--Sturm
Czech Republic--Elias
