I firmly believe anyone should be available if it makes the team better.

Horvat, Miller, Boeser, Pettersson, Hughes, Demkom Podkolzin, Hoglander or Garland. Myers, OEL, Poolman, Hamonic, Pearson, Dickinson all too, but let's not get too excited with that last list.

However, the energy this guy has provided our team, and the consistency when it comes to effort, speed and physicality (with or without his size handicap in consideration) and I really, really, really don't see a team giving up something that makes us better.

The same goes for Miller, you aren’t rebuilding your d or prospect pool without dealing good players….

Garland is a hell of a player but he would fetch a stud prospect and 1st…. You have to think about that….

Definitely makes no sense, therefore...it's probably going to happen. But seriously, why would you move someone like Garland? Unless you're adding to that to gear up for a huge impact player, i don't see where moving him really gets you.

There has to be an underlying issue here.

He was drafted way later than he should have given the outrageous season he had at the time.

Was traded away from a rebuilding franchise even though he was their best forward and still young.

And now not even a year into his new team he is available again.

What’s up?

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, quacks like a duck...it's probably a duck.

Rutherford has been pretty transparent in saying that they're going to be willing to consider a lot of things. I think we'll probably hear rumors/continue to hear rumors on a good majority of the forward group before - Miller, Garland, Motte, Boeser, Dickinson etc. Friedman has placed the name out there, so lets see what else follows over the coming weeks.

At the end of the day the pieces in the forward position will receive a lot more inquiries and give management pause to think if they get legit offers more so than the pieces we have on defense barring Hughes.

Pretty sure he requested a trade from the yotes (possibly twice)

He was traded from Arizona for contractural reasons.

Freiedman has said that the Rangers are looking for a top 6 forward with term and Garland fits that bill. So its no surprise that Rutherford is considering moving off some salary if it means they can get a comparable prospect for cheaper.

Rutherford: Hello, Jim here

(Insert GM here): Hey Jim, just checking in on things, heard Miller may be available?

Rutherford: Well we are doing some due diligence for sure, any thoughts on an offer?

(Insert GM here): Maybe, maybe....actually just wondering how the new front office feels about (insert literally any Canuck here)?

Rutherford: Oh well, we really haven't had the internal discussions yet, but did you have something in mind?

I'm assuming that there is a ton of something similar to above happening, and apparently still a leaking problem with the franchise?

They gave a 1st and took an absolute boat anchor in OEL to get him. Trading him would be stupid.

Canadian clubs gonna make moves like this though. Something must be in the water

Garland for Severson?

Garland was the reason we gave up the 9th overall, the OEL deal will look quite bad if we move garland and don't get a solid return just futures...

Van finally target’s a player who produces at even strength which was LITERALLY their biggest problem during the Benning era, now they are thinking about trading him????

Garland is one of the best players in the league at drawing penalties, currently top 10

We need more players like Garland not less. Pretty disappointing to hear this rumour to be honest. If it’s true, Rutherford really doesn’t get it.

As far as our good forwards go, the two guys who would be fine to trade are Boeser and/or Horvat. With Miller I get it because of his contract expiring next year and he likely won’t re-sign (and he’ll get a haul in a trade) but it’ll suck to see him go.
