They were also not giving up 2 on 0's. They were also being a lot more careful (i.e not turning pucks over in danger zones).

Overall just ugly play, and a goalie not standing on his heads hurts bad.

Out of curiosity, is any of this vindicating Elliott in anyone's eyes? No matter how good your goalie is, it's easy to rack up a 4.00GAA if your team gets consistently outplayed. All these goals going in on Johnson is really reminiscent to earlier in the year. It's not that he's playing badly, it's that we're being outplayed and it's leading to unstoppable goals because of consistent breakdowns.

The first game of the year had soft goals from Elliott, but after that, they were all just like this. Point blank shots, weird deflections and breakaways.

But Wideman and Engelland make a combined salary of $8.15m a year so they have to play or else.

Better have them out there for about 40 minutes combined.

I was kind of afraid that might happen.
Streaking as hell, and then a long layoff with two tough games coming back in. Especially the first one against a team slumping as hell; and then one of the best in the league

Neither. Streak Flames had a high PDO. Pre-streak Flames had a low PDO. Flames are probably a team that's going to win 38-42 games this year. Hopefully we can replace possessiin killers like Wideman and Engelland next year.
