If Columbus will not move PLD and they want Galchenyuk then they have to pay in prospects .....Texier,Abramov,1st round pick.

The only acceptable return for Galchenyuk would be PLD , the + on the Montreal side is what I'm not sure on.

Galchenyuk is a C , he just needs to practice his faceoffs by playing the position...Apparently you can't work on your faceoffs from the left wing , who knew? I think something like Galchenyuk + Scherbak could be a possibility for PLD + cap dump (as necessary).

Galchenyuk + Panarin + Scherbak would be magic , they compliment eachother like butter. Scherbak has been tearing up the AHL lately and just turned 22.

Habs don't like skilled Russians they do everything they can to treat them like secondary assets by either not re-signing/protecting (Markov/Radulov/Emelin) or mishandling (Galchenyuk/Scherbak).
These players always say the right thing to the media , have strong work ethics and are often loved by fans. However some of the local media spin the lazy Russian narrative and it's cancer to this hockey organization. They have been building a team in the image of the 1990's brand of hockey with Canadian thoroughbred type hockey players. Price/Weber/Shaw and local boys being favoured over the more skilled Russian. Many will deny it but it's as obvious as ever when looking at the moves made by the current management team.

Jenner - Wennberg - Bjorkstrand/Anderson
Panarin - Galchenyuk - Scherbak

Could be a very dangerous top 6.

Galchenyuk is 23 yrs old has 2+ years remaining on his contract Montreal don't need to trade him and shouldn`t unless the get either an elite A+ prospect or a player that's currently playing in Columbus with equal talent .

Jenner and Wennberg do not have equal value.

What's up with McCarron? If I recall correctly, Habs fans were really high on him a few seasons back.
He's really struggling... part is him not reaching his potential, part is developpment screwed him over. He's not playing with good players in the AHL. When he's in the NHL he's asked to be someone he's not. I think he feel the pressure to fight to prove himself everytime he's with the Habs.

I still think he can become a Brian Boyle type of player, albeit a lesser version of him, down the road.

The Habs fan fantasy world where Chucky is worth the value of what Habs fans dream he could be. He’s not a Center and he’s not top 6 but the BJs should pay like he is.

And Sherbak, a 22 year old who can’t make the NHL on the 5th worst team in the league, 3rd worst in offense is some how a top 6 on the BJs?

Not a top 6 player...Oh boy 57 points and 30 goals in 2015-2016. Top 40 in the NHL for the first 24 games until his injury in Dec 2016 , all while playing C...Also 16 points in his last 18 games but sure he isn't a top 6 forward. Applying logic to the decisions of the Habs management was your first mistake.

To be fair, this is the team that is putting Byron as our #1C instead of putting Chucky there. At this point, the Habs would probably rather put a 60 yr old janitor in as the #1 C over Chucky (because MB publicly stated, Chucky will never play C).

What's with the organizations disdain for the guy? If what you are saying is true that the GM has it out for him, he is basically tanking Galchenyuk's value single-handedly. What on earth did Galchenyuk do and why would another GM want to take on that potential risk (plus give up premium pieces). Not trying to insinuate he is Evander Kane levels of bad, but the fact that apparently the GM is intentionally sewering him and making the team worse off without reason is hard to believe.

Don't see a way to make this work unless PLD or Werenski are on the table, which doesn't seem to be the case.

Some media guys in Montréal said he has been part of a detox program... Which hasn't been confirmed since it's meant to be anonymous and confidential.

Aside from that [unconfirmed] piece of information... Not much has happened off-ice. That time his girlfriend got into a fight with him or whatnot? Ended up being a non story for the most part.

Thing is, Bergevin wants a certain "kind" of player on this team. Good ol' Canadian mentality, if you will. Galchenyuk has typically associated with guys that didn't exactly go in that direction, guys like Subban, DSP, Beaulieu... How many of them is there left?
