"that chick from Ohio"
I don't actually have a specific proposal here, because I only know vague assertions about Florida's situation. It sounds like Florida could use defensive help, and we'd kind of like offensive help, and so I wonder if something can be worked out.
There's one ground rule - I think we can all safely agree that any proposal involving Barkov or Jones is an automatic "no". So let's just not go there. Cool? Cool.
From Columbus's perspective, our needs would be at C and LW. The obvious ideal target is Trocheck, but unless there's some way to get him without offering up someone like Werenski I suspect that's not going to work out. Someone like Hoffman would also help, although a quick stats glance shows he's kind of ludicrously hot right now so this may be a bad time to ask.
For Florida... I get the impression that what the Panthers really need is defensive LD help, but I'm not sure at what level. I'm assuming Yandle still has the top pair position sewn up, but beyond that I'm uncertain (in particular, I have no idea at all how Matheson is doing, and I haven't the slightest clue who would be on the depth chart after him). I've heard the "let's trade Pysyk" rumors as well, but I'm assuming that's mostly a short-term cap thing. If that impression of mine is correct and if something small helps, we can spare Harrington without worries; otherwise, discussions would probably be about Murray or Gavrikov.
So... is there anything in particular we can work out? Or is this one of those "looks like they could be good trade partners but actually aren't" situations?
