About what I expected.

I expect he'll be dealt before the 2021/22 season with his salary increasing to 4.2M.

Awesome news they kept it cheap and short. Had this one pegged almost bang on. I'd bet on it that he won't play out the 2 years in Ottawa.

The talk of him getting $4.5-5mil with term was ridiculous and I'm glad to see that didn't come to pass.

I'm indifferent about this but I really like the term. I was scared that they would give him longer term but 2 years is perfect IMO. The AAV is a tad high for my liking but it's nothing to be mad about.

We need some guys who can play minutes and take pressure off of the kids and Tierney is that guy right now. Makes sense that he makes a tad less than Brown too and happy the team sees Brown as being a more valuable piece to this team.

Dorion really knocking these RFA contracts out of the park so far. Other than maybe the Murray contract he's done everything right.

Funny to hear Garrioch describe a 26YR old who's only played 6 seasons in the league as a veteran.

6 years in the NHL should make you a vet.

Tierney has 436 NHL Games under his belt plus 40 more in the playoffs.

Most players actually don't last that long in the NHL.

According to Hutton and Quant Hockey, an NHL career usually lasts between 5 and 5-and-a-half years

Tierney 436 nhl games played
Pageay 435 nhl games played

Pageau is two years older and him getting injured more than Tierney and playing less games on average in more seasons doesn't matter.

When I think of veteran I think of a guys like Anderson, Hainsey and Ryan. Guys in their 30s that have spent 10YRs+ in the league, not a 26YR old kid.

Not a fan of Tierney but hey it's only 2 years and I'm hoping he gets taken by Seattle in the ED. Sens still need to target a C this offseason unless Stuetzle comes over and goes all Ovechkin in his first year as a Sen.

How old are you? 26 is not a kid. He's definitely a veteran in the league. Most players don't sniff 500 games.

By that definition Pageau isn't a veteran either
