Poster said best manager in the league to me that's top 5.. If you're putting that label on him you'd have more than good PO run.
We won 1 game in the WCF. U need 16 wins for the cup so 9/16 is 56% which is slightly above average so not close at all. We won all these trades heavily supposedly yet our team is the worst it's been in years, and was couples wins better than the 11-12 Atlanta Jets. Then consider his coaching choices, or how his drafting has been closer to average. Imo he's an average gm not one of the best in the league.
It’s fascinating how much people laud Chevy given how little this team has actually accomplished over his 11 years in charge. You’d think the best GM in the league would have put together a team that got itself out of the 1st round of the playoffs more than twice (one and a half to be accurate, the Canadian division thing was a farce). Great, he wins trades, he drafts well in the 1st round and found a gem in Helle. It’s like talking about actual results is some kind of taboo subject.

TNSE doesn't really care about the Jets winning. Of course they want to win, but they don't care enough to be willing to make tough decisions that need to be made in a performance oriented business. Maurice having to fire himself is just one example. Extending Chevy given the abysmal record of this team over 11 years under the guy is another, and is like spitting in the face of the fans. We made the playoffs four times. We won a total of three playoff rounds. Of the four times we got knocked out of the playoffs, on three of the four occasions it was after losing four straight games. Not good for what is looking like a lifetime GM. FFS, Chevy is still using Byf as an excuse.

I can't wait until Chevy pulls a Maurice and decides to fire himself. God knows Chipman will never do it.

Mike Mcintyre nails it in his article in the Free Press today!

basically calls the Jets a rudderless organization even too scared to properly fire Lowry and the coaching staff!

Chimp-man and so-called team ownership no where to be seen for a few years

internal rot within the organization……no vision
have a funny feeling its a lot worse than we r getting in the media about the reasons for the discontent

the optics of chevy s extension look really weird....these were all his hires and now they r his "fires" and he gets a raise/extension!!!

I for one am glad they have waited. Last time they fell in love with at best a medicore coach because they went on a little run. There were far better candidates available that summer. Wasted 7 years IMHO.
Paul Maurice was an unemployed coach at that time and was working as a TV analyst and Chevy thought he could hire him at a cheap salary. Claude Noel had reached his shelf life date.

Yeah this whole narrative of the Jets win the draft every year is getting a bit much. He’s been living off the 2013 and 2015 drafts for years. His record in rounds 2-3 is horrendous. Credit for finding talent in the later rounds but that gets canceled out by the misses early.
But this team doesn’t have an impact player drafted after 2016 on the roster. Hienola and Samberg could be but they don’t seem to want to play them. So they have either been overhyped or not properly valued. Either way that’s no good.
Outside of Scheifele and Truba he’s been more lucky than good. Ehlers feel to him, Boston passed on Connor three straight picks, Won a lottery to move up 9 spots to get Liane and most recently had Perfetti fall to him. Again credit to recognize someone else mistake but still he’s not pulling rabbits out of hats.
