Makes sense. Question is, who is interested?

Blues? Flames?

I just don't see that big of a market for a UFA goaltender, but there's no doubting BB's talent when he's on. Should be interesting to see what he can return.

Blues won't jettison Jake Allen, but they should. Bishop makes them a sound playoff contender. Jake Allen has never, in any level of his career, found success in the playoffs. He tends to fold under that manner of pressure which has left me scratching my head why they would sign him to a 4m/year contract instead of riding it out with him and Elliott first to see what they have in him. Blues do have other needs that should be addressed first (Top 4 Center and LHD).

My dark horse pick for where Bishop is going would be the Kings.

I dont think any team will give up that much for him, and they'll try to get him as a UFA instead. And Tampa wont trade him unless they get something decent and would rather keep and let go than give him away to others for nothing.

Dont think he gets traded. Contenders wont go for him, so maybe fringe teams that want a better chance of locking him up in the summer and want to make the playoffs.

Calgary doesn't have the cap room.

Johnson/Elliot (take your pick) + 2nd (conditional 1st) + Wideman/Brouwer

That's about as best as we could offer

Paging Kevin Shattenkirk, come in Kevin, come in...

I just don't see it. On the surface it makes sense (as I just said TB will be targeting D) but I don't know if TB is going to want to pay Shattenkirk what he'll be anticipating with Palat, Johnson and Drouin all up as RFA.

If some other pieces move first (Filppula, Garrison), then I could see it happening.

You gotta think they're gonna prefer a younger dman already signed. Not saying Bishop returns that, but I think that would be the basis of a deal.

Pens deciding to keep MAF may help TB get a better return, as well.

https://www.nhl.com/news/pittsburgh-penguins-plan-to-keep-marc-andre-fleury/c-287057198

It says the Pens would "like to keep" Fleury, nothing says it's set in stone. Of course they aren't going to come out and say they want to move him, and nor should they with the team they have and only having Murray to rely on. If you're serious about a cup run he stays put unless you just can't say no and that kind of deal isn't going to come along.

Would STL be a good match?

Assuming a deal around Shattenkirk/Bishop - as a base obviously

Bishop is currently on a 5 (?) game win streak, so it's good timing to move him. Really hope he does well in his game tonight to really drive home the point.
