Kopitar's on his 2nd non-ELC contract, though.

Flyers will have to pay up to keep Couturier in 2022.
Couts is also on his 2nd non-ELC, fwiw. He signed that 2 year bridge deal for 1.75 million.

So after his ELC, we will have had Couts for 8 years at a $3,687,500 per year rate. Kopi's 7 years was for 6.8 million.

But 100% agree that the next Couts deal is going to cost!

2 blue chip prospects, 2 1sts and a solid 3rd line C with 2nd line potential is terribad? Your hockey knowledge is lacking.
Dube and Kylington aren't blue chip prospects lol. So 2 b prospects, a bad cap dump, a 3c, and 2 late 1sts is a horrible offer for a 25 year old 30 + goal 70 + point Selke caliber 1c signed for 3 more years at a 4.33m dollar cap hit. Not to mention your trying to trade for a core part of a team that very clearly wants to compete and not sell

Again, your hockey knowledge is lacking. Look at what trades for "elite" players have had returned for them in the past 5 years.

Kylington and Dube are both sure fire prospects. Low, but still blue chip level.

Explore this in 2 years and if the flames are having issues signing Gaudreau there may be a trade to make...

Philly is competing rn and have no one that can replace him on the top line and play at a similar or better level... He's not being traded period.

And no, Kylington and Dube are not blue chip prospects. Blue chip prospects are guys with elite potential, they are not that.

Kylington easily has elite potential.

Dube does, Kylington does not. Dube already can play NHL hockey but management figured he'd benefit from more ice time which he'd get in the AHL.

Neal wouldn’t crack our T9- that’s a no go with cap because we have youngsters to sign and elite F to fill.

We have our C depth figured out: Couturier, Patrick, Frost, Laughton, X- Giroux too if need be. Jankowski is certainly a good player, but he would need to be an add if in a deal for Couturier.

Dude wouldn’t crack our NHL lineup as a C and we have good winger prospects.

Kylington would certainly make our bottom pairing. Sadly, he may have T4 potential, but we have higher upside players that’ll hopefully turnout in Provorov, Sanheim, Gostisbehere, and Myers.

This is the epitome of a quantity for quality trade. This also is the definition of “diminishing returns”.

This is one of the worst proposals I’ve seen on here and there have been some pretty bad ones for Couturier.

How about this... I’ll even give better value to show you just how bad that offer was:

German Rubtsov + Nolan Patrick + 2019 1st (12-14) + Andrew MacDonald + 2020 1st

Matthew Tkachuk + Kylington.
