You're surprised that sports fans - where its all about winning and losing - are "obsessed" with winning and losing while talking about things to do with their sports teams?

What a shocker. Who could have seen that coming?
The thing is, with trades it's not black and white. Nor can anyone feasibly have any statistical evidence to support the claim of "winner or loser" until each player has completed their stint with the teams.

So yes, it's still very stupid obsess over who wins and loses trades.

98 percent of the discussions here are very stupid to obsess over. That's what being a sports fan is about.

It's pretty damn strange to go to a hockey message board, go into a section about hockey trades, and then claim that it's stupid for people to label winners and losers in hockey trades.

Which I have also stated multiple times. Honestly, what Neal does with the Oilers and Lucic does as a Flame, should be completely irrelevant to the fans of their previous teams. All that matters in a trade is improving your team and we all know that neither Neal nor Lucic were going to improve in the situations they were in, so this should be seen as a positive for both at this point in time as both appear to be a better fit on paper.
Sure that generally is fair (except our GMs have thrown in a performance dependent pick in there now...)

You also may want to tell that to Rubi who keeps commenting on how much it will cost the Oilers to buy out Neal and how he's untradable, and how he'd be surprised if Neal gets bought out.

Rather than focusing on why Lucic is good for them, a lot of the Flames fans keep referring to Neal and how the contract is so unfavourable for the Oilers and how the Oilers don't make the playoffs.

Do you see why we are piping up?

I find it strange to argue over things you have no way of proving. At all. To each their own.

There's plenty of sports fans who discuss things of actual relevancy without obsessing over and arguing about things that have no bearing on anything. Again, to each their own. Enjoy.

You are right and to be honest I really don't care how having Neal on the Oilers roster will affect their play or their bottom line cap wise. As far as Lucic, I'm honestly not a big fan of having him on the team but it is what it is, and Treliving obviously couldn't find a better deal for Neal (and Neal HAD to go) and I'm trying to find a silver lining in a very dark cloud.

Now if only Oiler fans could stop dancing with glee about how Holland pulled one over on Treliving. That has yet to be proved. All that has been proven is that Neal was a terrible fit on the Flames and was a negative presence on both the ice and in the locker room. Just getting rid of Neal was a huge win for the Flames and their future.

Do you not realize how utterly stupid blaming one side for a back and forth debate is? You bitch about us putting down Neal, when your fanbase is doing exactly the same thing regarding Lucic. I'm so tired of posters like you and a few others that seem to think it's only one side that has caused this thread to deteriorate into the cesspool that it is.
