Okay I am mad now as an Avs fan...

That should have been the Avs. Not the team already having a boat anchor contract as your #1 G in Markstrom...

His lateral movement and the number of holes he leaves open when he's moving leave something to be desired, but he's one of the most likeable dudes in hockey, strong on his angles, awesome vision through traffic, big, stays square. More aggressive than a lot of big guys, too. I'm not sure he's a long-term #1 solution, but he's a good player and deserves a chance to play in the NHL for an extended period.

Absolutely loved by everyone in Providence/Bruins Org. Just a great, great kid.

Vladar has shown nothing to prove that he's a #1G, at least not this year. He'd be a replacement for Francouz if he was out for the year.

Weird to be mad about this one.

We aren't going to realistically get anyone that is a perfect solution.

Going for a cheap, young goalie with team control and see how that guy can do in a rotation with Francouz right now is IMO by far our best option. If he fails or is not good enough, you revisit your options at the deadline and make a bigger trade then if necessary. JoJo and Dubnyk have shown that this Avs team can survive behind less than stellar goaltending if necessary.
Vladar was probably one of the prime candidates for that option.

Certainly beats out getting in a bidding war over Kuemper or overpaying for Georgiev or pay absurd prices for Gibson.

Good luck to Darth. Didn't get much of a look at him in Boston but he wasn't getting past Swayman and needed waivers to go back to Providence.
