Personally, I wouldn't risk giving Marner or JVR for Savard. I mean, you can get a great deal of picks and prospects, along with a bottom 6 forward for those guys.

Well, their value may not be the same; you can always add value for either Marner or JVR.

Well Bozak's is too so that isn't really a concern, but I would assume extensions would be in place as part of a trade for both guys anyway.

There' a difference between the Avs who are rebuilding, and CBJ which is looking for an upgrade for a cup run. Of all of the pieces you listed only 1 is a bona fide NHL'er, and not only is JVR a rental his effort level and lack of defensive awareness would give Torts an aneurysm in week 1. Yes we get that Leafs are high on Kapanen and Leivo but lets be real. Leivo: 14 NHL games played in a 5 year career. Kapanen with 20 games and a whopping 1 point. Those are "could be good later" pieces. Not "improve my team now" pieces.

I know that it's splitting hairs but Leivo has actually played 46 games and has scored 9 times.
