Until this very day, I do not understand why the NFL is so popular in both Cincy and Cleveland; just an outsider, asking.
Lebronaukah Part 2 is happening.
Question for people who know what they're talking about:
I've seen that the 2022 World Cup could be moved to the States. Any chance Columbus gets to host a few games? I know US Soccer likes to hsot games here.
I know Crew Stadium is way too small as is but maybe Ohio Stadium?
I know Columbus wasn't among the sites submitted when the U.S. put its original bid in for the 2022 World Cup, which it lost.
Indianapolis was the closest site on the list of 12-16 cities.
Buuuuuut, I've seen it speculated that given Columbus' significance to U.S. soccer and the age of Crew Stadium that maybe a 2022 World Cup would spur the creation of a new stadium.
Obviously at lot of big ifs there ...
If the U.S. were to swipe the World Cup from Qatar.
If Columbus would be willing/able to get a new stadium built (debatable since this would likely involve public funds and we know how local folks feel about that issue ...)
If that would even be enough to bump larger cities off that list.
If any of this could even happen in the next 8 years.
Fun to imagine purely as a sports fan.
Not sure Ohio Stadium would fit. I believe I read somewhere that there is a field width requirement that some stadiums (The Big House being another) may not meet.

To be fair to Suarez, it's hard to resist an Italian Sub.
Well, here's a few thoughts: the NFL started in Ohio, the Browns were very successful when the league first began to grow in popularity, and the Bengals were started and owned by an Ohio football icon, Paul Brown. Not to mention that high school football is a religion in many parts of the state and college football at places as diverse as Ohio State and Mount Union compete for national titles.

The Decision: Part Deux. Where will he take his talents this time? I hate the NBA, nothing but showboaters.
Thanks for the NFL history lesson; that indeed cements the league's reputation as a Midwest institution, especially when I previously met Packers fans in real life in Los Angeles, let alone California, of all places.
As long as he doesn't wind up with the Knicks or leave Miami, I'm okay with it.
1. Whoa. How did a Packers rube from the midwest figure out how to get all the way out to LA, let alone California? He hitch a ride with Uncle Jed?
2. God I love this line.

Here comes Andrew Wiggins!
