It sucks to lose a game when our goaltending was actually good. We knew we were going to lose some because of bad goaltending, but this wasn't that.

We also knew we were going to lose some because we're so young. This was a little bit that.

We also knew we were going to lose some because of a lack of finishing ability. This was mostly that.

And I don't have any issues with the lines as they are currently constructed. Three lines are going well and you can't really move guys when that's the case. My one and only problem with RBA and the staff right now is the lack of changes and desire to try things on the power play. It's not just that we're 2-for-22 or whatever, it's that we're not even dangerous. The personnel there *has* to change.

What happened to the plan of Zykov being parked on front of the net?

Honestly, this.

The powerplay doesn’t even have an identity. It’s not a matter of not executing the plan, it’s that there is no plan. The idea seems to be “gain the zone, maintain possession, and maybe one of our point shots will go in.”

Zykov on the PP at least gives some semblance of an identity. It at least puts the guy that’s good in front of the net in front of the net. It makes the point shots that much more dangerous, which spreads the PKers out and opens the cross ice passing lanes.

Right now it’s just “ooh Aho has the - oh he passed it to Faulk on the point never mind. Oh he has it aga- back to Faulk.”

Giving up the gwg when you’re 2 mins away from a guaranteed point and you’ve mostly outplayed the other team is a sheisty way to lose. However, a point or better in Tampa makes the road trip very successful. It would have been great though to go balls to the wall in Tampa with at least 3 out of 6 points banked.

They can play with the big boys and Mrazek didn’t shit the bed...baby steps I guess.

P.S.-Pls take Faulk off the first PP and put Staal on 1 and Aho on the other. Necas is ass in the faceoff circle.

The shit call on Staal was the turning point to me, but it doesnt matter. We were gonna lose at some point, might as well be tonight. We need to score more than one goal, we had some good chances but I saw a lot of stuff just thrown at the net - a complaint of the Peter's days. We're better at the dirty goals this year but we traded some skill away so finishing isn't always going to be easy. Dougie needs to be the top unit pp guy, and the kids unit on the second pp isn't getting it done. Necas just isn't at the point he needs to be yet to be counted on like that.

I'm really happy we got Dehaan, been meaning to say something. He's glue guy, does all the dirty work all night with no recognition. If he stays healthy we got him a great price, because we'd be even more of a shit show in our own end if we didn't have him.

Hi, as a Jet fan the Canes were by far the better team tonight and the Jets were lucky to win. No one dominated the Jets at home last year like the Canes did tonight. The Canes were goalied tonight and that is the only reason the Jets won. Your team looks exactly like the Jets did last year. Young team that has arrived. I don't know what will happen this year but I see the Canes as a future power in the Metro if not this year then deffinitly next year. The Jets and the Canes are the two youngest teams in the league with incredible talent. Seems to me that it is only a matter of time before these two teams meet in the SC final in the next few years.

Absolutely fantastic team you guys have there I think the canes are looking great

I don't follow the eastern teams too much but the canes are looking like one of my favourites this year. I only got a good look at them today because we played each other. Very strong team you guys have, will be fun watching the trajectory.

Aho is also on my fantasy team so I am always rooting for him! Good luck this season Canes fans!

I think we've gotten accustomed to the idea that we can play with anybody 5-on-5, just talking about the skaters. It's not even that surprising when you look at the template being followed, the CBJs and Vegas have had success the same way with roughly equal (or lesser) talent.

The goalie situation is what will hold this team back. It's going to lose us games where we outplay the other team significantly and that's just the way it is.

I think a lot of throwing it at the net was just from not having that other gear tonight. The guys were working hard, but they looked a bit worn out. Without that extra burst you have to settle for Bowman chances.

They could really use Rask back so they could balance the minutes better in these back to backs. I don’t think Wallmark or Necas can be trusted on top of them not generating much of anything.
