I would agree with you if both Kassian and Neil played on the same line but Maclean for some reason like to split them up so that we have 2 useless lines like last night. Chris Neil got over 13 minutes of ice time last night and that should never happen. We had Pageau with just over 6 min and Condra with just over 8 min who could have been used instead of Neil. Paul Maclean frustrates me to no end with his use of Neil and Phillips.

In terms of Pageau Joy said it was his 4th game in 4 nights. Not saying PM woulda played him more anyways, but could have been a factor in his ice time.

Greening has been useless this year

Thing with condra and correct me if I'm wrong is that the only reason he should have a spot on this team is because he is supposed to be a pk specialist. Our pk isn't good this year so he doesn't hold too much value and we should try something different

I don't think Condra is the problem with our PK. When on the ice his line is allowing fewer shots 4vs5 than it did last year, the goaltending just hasn't been there. I'd also wager our PK would only get worse without him.

Pretty sure Stone hits Niel in his excitement, and then shrugs a whoops and continues his arms thrown up to cheer.

Smith is actually better offensively than people give him credit for. He just never gets to play with other offensive players. I remember last year he played with Alfredsson for a stretch when Turris was really struggling and he was a point per game during that span IIRC.

Smith has never been a pt per game player, unless you count 2 games as being point per game.

He's not a PK specialist at all, because he's good at even-strength. He doesn't score a lot but he's an excellent checker and plays very well defensively. The sens have the puck more often than not when he's on the ice, and he's about even in GF/GA at even strength. He's exactly what you want in a 4th line player.

smith has played with offensive players and he's always been terrible. you probably blocked it from memory he was so bad. played on spezza's wing and showed he has zero ability to play with skilled players.

I thought Stone was trying to high 5 everyone around him but they all jumped over the boards, (some more graceful than others) and he just jumped by himself.

I just laughed when I saw that.

Phillips was grinning too, probably in on the joke.

meanwhile.........guy who was scratched to make room for philloops picked up the first assist on our only goal.

Sorry guys O/T but can anyone confirm if they have in fact taken out the alcohol-free section at the CTC? Im thinking of grabbing some $9 tickets off stubhub for the game tomorrow in Sec 315, and want to make sure I can have a few pops in my seat

It is now permitted in all sections.

Look at the bottom of the seating chart and it says it's now allowed...

I believe he's referencing from about 6 mar 2013 to 19 mar when he put up 6 pts in 7 games(I believe that coincides with when he played on Alfredsson's line).

No clue, but i did notice a CTC employee going around near my section id'ing anyone who looked under age drinking a beer...first time i have seen this and seemed kind of odd considering there were no disturbances at all...i guess just for legal purposes but it gave me an odd big brother sees all feeling.

Zibanejad and Hemsky generated a boat load of great scoring chances. It was probably the most scoring chances ever generated by one line that I have seen all year. That game they just got really unlucky and passed the puck too much. That will certainly change next game.

What Holmes said is true. The coaching and management decisions took this team out of a top 4/5 finish with these insane line combination and playing time allocations. It is extremely frustrating to think they had all year to get their heads out of their *****, and in the end never did. If they had any sense of reality, last night they could have had three great scoring lines.

They played like last year, defensively responsible smart with the puck. Got it in deep and had tons of back pressure.... A completely different team... weird.

Its a small sample size but look who was out of the lineup and look how good Zibby looked with real linemates.... Time to cut the cord. Hemsky was flying and attacking the zone with aggression with Zibanejad he has to be re signed. I thought Michalek was ok, he drives the net and creates room while back checking really hard.

Karlsson looked like he was playing for Carolina last night. If he doesnt want to be there or buy in maybe he can have a lower body injury too until he figures it out.

Watching a lineup that cared and gave it their all despite the adversity of poor officiating was incredible. No cliche comments no excuses just win and that they did.

Pageau should take Condras job he plays with more of an edge and more speed, he has way more offensive in his game too.

Fantastic not seeing Greening out there floating around killing momentum with his hands of stone and zero effort.

Mac Turris Stone leave them together please they are just a force defensively, Stone is an incredible forchecker for his lack of speed. His hockey sense is off the charts, the ability to read the play strip pucks and create turnovers is exactly what this team needs. His hands are coming along too soon he will start to really score playing with those guys. MacArthur took about 6 gernades off his skates and controlled them.

This team needs to play this way I just dont think they can with Spezza around, he leads by example and its killing this team.

Next season id love to see this lineup and trade Spezza for a top 2 D man.

MacArthur Turris Stone
Lazar Zibanejad Hemsky
Hoffman Dacosta Ryan
Pageau Smith Neil

What kind of sub can I get with my ticket, and is it at all subway locations? I can't find anything about this promotion anywhere on the sens website.

If we trade spezza, hemsky will most definitely walk.

Hemsky has already stated that playing with spezza will factor into his decision on whether he wants to resign or not.

If it's the same as last time I did it (don't recall, but I think in my case the ticket came with the sub, so not exactly the same), I had to go to the ticket both at CTC after the game, then they gave me a prepaid gift card for 6 dollars. Depending on which Subway you go to, they may make you pay the difference if your sub is >6$.

Was it one of those cards? We see them occasionally at the store I work at. Should be any 6-inch sub at any location.

You just use the ticket stub and it's for any 6inch on the menu, at least that is what i was told when i picked mine up for lunch today. Best sub i have eaten to date :yo:

Never mind that Spezza has been instrumental in the two previous wins.... This fanbase.... :shakehead

Won't deny that for a second but giving up 40 plus shots consistently, playing a run and gun style is not how you win in this league.

Hmm. I wonder if the tickets were part of the giveaway promotion that Subway was running earlier?

I've never seen an actual ticket stub with a free sub, but I know Ottawa stores were running a promotional giveaway for ticket packages and free subs up until last month.

It was 1 game and Zibanejad/Hemsky combo dominated the cycle. Let's also not forget the whole team played more responsibly, which is clearly the fault of Spezza. We should base all our decisions on the line-up going forward entirely on this one game. If you don't like the way things are done here then too bad
