If anyone I'd bench Salvador on D, but we aren't gonna bench the man with the C. If anyone it's gotta be Volch. He hasn't been as bad as everyone makes him out to be. He's good along the boards and good on the PK. But he's been beat on a lot of goals this year. I also think Bryce is still better on the PK than Volch as well. I'd consider benching Zids, but his D play has been improving and we need him working the PP at the point, but he's gotta stop taking all of the damn shots!

Meh had a feeling this was going to happen tonight. They picked it up in the third at least and were in it till the end.

Clarkson and Henrique missed two glorious chances plus a few others could have found the net easily. Could have easily been a different game. Glad Kovy was in pissed off mode, need to get Zajac to step it up a bit.

So let me get this straight. After Sunday's game, we were a lock for the Cup. But now, we suck and need to trade everybody.

I don't think anybody said we need to trade everybody. I think eventually we will need to make a trade, but the hot start has bought us some time. This was still a very winnable game tonight against a tired team. Aside from Kovy, and CBGB everyone was pretty sucky, aside from flashes of good stuff here and there like Henrique's almost shorthanded goal.

Marty had a Dipietro moment on that first goal (Just because people get on me for not calling out Marty) PK was good until the end of a couple of those penalties where we gave up a goal. PP was bad after the first goal. Josefson was particularly bad. Just so much bad about this game.

I wish Gio had more skill. Guy goes to play every night with so much heart, and never takes his NHL job for granted. This is why he's been one of my favorites since he came last year, and I said we should give him a chance.

This game felt a lot like the Pittsburgh game we lost 5-1. Got outplayed the first 40 but still kept it close. This time they went down fighting though, which I liked. Still you can't expect to win many games when you only show up for 1 period.

I would not scratch Volch in a Flyers game. He always shows up for them and we know how the Flyers get.

His stats against them might be one of his best against any other team.

Anybody who slags Kovy after a bad game by us can't do it now. He was a beast tonight, and as someone else said single handedly killed off one of those later penalties.

Was thinking the same thing the other day. Salvador, C withstanding, would be on the pine. Can't bench a captain though, even if its temporary.

Guy must really be something in the lockerroom... we all know he's a warrior on the ice but that alone doesn't make a captain. Usually the best player on a team so when its this off-base, he really must be amazing in there.

A clunker at the end of a five-game win streak, and even then, they stayed in it until the very end despite the abysmal penalty kill and missed chances.

Penalty killing needs to be worked on a little bit. Doesn't look abysmal, but we've given up 4 PP goals in the last 3 games.

I guess this loss balances out the weekend sweep of the Pens wherein I was expecting a split. Oh well.

Got outplayed all night but had s PP in the 3rd in a 2-2 game. Few players got too cute and passed up open shots.
Missed the SH 2 on 1 because fans in front of me jumped up.
Could have squeaked out an undeserved point or two with some puck luck but some nights you don't have it.

4th line was brutal and when will Travis get back to normal?

Seriously, As much as it annoys me to see the devils lose to that garbage franchise, it's really no big deal as I fully expect them to bounce back against philthy.

I think it's getting close to time to take Matteau off that 1st line. I've maintained this even after his 2 game point streak, but I think we're gonna need a better option than that.

We could try Butler. I think it's worth a shot. I'm gonna call a spade, and spade and I kept my mouth shut for the 5 game win streak. I'm gonna tell you right now we haven't had a good first line all year. I didn't even like Zubrus on the first line, but I'm really missing him right now. This could explain why Trav has been a no show offensively. I think you're seeing a big part of that at least.

Loktionov time? Who gets the call up if Zubrus goes on LTIR? If Janssen comes back up I might zip myself next time I finish taking a leak.

As a goalie who still plays at a pretty high level, I understand what Marty was doing on the first goal. If there was one he'd probably want back it would be the second one. I was right behind him for both btw.

Second one was deflected, as was the third one. I don't blame him too much on the first goal. I feel like I'm a bit of Marty homer on here sometimes especially when arguing with the ''But Marty has a 902 save percentage, and that suggests he's a below average goaltender'' populous. So I figured I'd throw a little jab his way. He's been pretty damn good aside from the Isles game.

I think almost a third of the goals Marty has given up have been PP goals, so his even strength save percentage is way higher than last year.

Three things really irked me about tonight:

1. That Fayne penalty should not be a penalty. I don't care if the refs have called it all year. That's ****ing hockey. There should be a grace period after the dump where the player is allowed to get checked. Not allowing any contact is stupid.

2. Why does Brodeur ****ing insist on playing the puck shorthanded? Just take the damn faceoff.

3. When the Canes have a lead, they lose their balance so easily when you go near them. They hit the deck so quickly when defense is being played at all, just begging for calls. Diving needs to be a fined offense if the NHL ever plans on seriously removing it.
