For those saying the Leafs should have signed him to a similar contract, I just don't think Gardiner wanted to play in a high profile hockey market anymore. After being under the microscope in Toronto, I bet he's pretty happy to be moving on to a city and team where not many people cares about how he plays. Not every player strives under that type of high pressure environment.
