The Capitals have a goaltender that holds the NHL record for most wins in a season. Vanecek is one of three Caps rookie goalies to win 20 games. The NHL's official goalie stats lists win loss records and the default listing is by most wins. Somebody recognizes wins by goalies.

The Bruins lost today in regulation to the Rangers. So there is still a chance they could drop to #4 depending on the Islanders-Devils game tonight.

Ya his play didn’t inspire confidence. You never know though, worse goalies have caught fire in the playoffs before.

it was predictable though. He missed things you expected old goalies to miss, but his rebound placement and communication with the back end was efficient and much improved compared to the young guys at various times this year.

not saying he's an improvement overall but you do pretty much get exactly what you expect, which is a nice change of pace for us at the moment.
