Losing Polak is huge, IMO. Getting Zaitsev back would help a ton.

Zaitsev has skated twice on his own this weekend.

LeBrun thought he looked 100%, or close to it.

He'll be a game time decision depending if he skates in the morning warm up and feels good to go.

Agreed. I think the Leafs come up short tonight but Matthews will have an impact.

Leafs will be flying tonight. We have younger legs and haven't overplayed anyone this season. We should be fired up for the crowd inside and out.

Hope we can get that first goal and keep scoring. Zaitsev back would be huge as we are losing some physicality in Polak.

I imagine the crowd being a little tentative to start, they had better not fall behind early. I've been talking up the playoff atmosphere to my eldest for quite some time now. She'll finally get to experience it tonight, they better not disappoint.

Yeah, Leafs mgmt was probably mad he tweeted it since then the Caps can plan their game around us having him.

Or maybe Leafs know Zaitsev won't be ready tonight so they made him tweet it to mess with Washington

It was a massive loss.

For as much flak as Polak caught this year, he was an absolute beast in Game 1. We need Zaitsev back in the worst way, but I do hope they don't rush him.



Gotta come out hard and fast and build on that win.

This will be our toughest game I think. Caps usually play well in our barn and I think they will be all over us.

On Sunday, Nikita Zaitsev hit the ice for a second straight day and afterwards posted a tweet with video of him skating and the message, "See you soon Toronto." The defenceman, who later deleted the tweet, has been sidelined with an upper-body injury (suspected concussion)
