That kicking motion was easily the distinctest I have seen since last June in Brazil. But the #Caps, apparently, can score this way now #CBJ

ok...I only saw it once but it looked like he changed the angle on his skate as opposed to what brooks laich did the game before which propelled the puck forward. seeing it two games in a row makes it much easier to see the difference.

but fine. it was a gift. the caps take a break when they get one. cbj still had a chance to win in OT. why did cbj lose in ot? who's fault was that?

Put it this way.. I was surprised that they let the goal stand. But whatever, CBJ got plenty of easy calls so their sympathizers should basically keep quiet.

Looked like skate rotation to direct the puck. Not a "distinct kicking motion". You can see the skate recoil backwards a bit on impact with the puck. That means changing the angle, not exerting force in the direction of the puck or the goal.

There are soothing creams out there if people have a problem with this.

It was definitely a clean goal by Glue, it deflected in off his skate not even close to a kicking motion.

The NHL has explicitly stated players are allowed to angle their skate to deflect a puck in. It's part of their more liberal interpretation on potential kicked in goals that's being enacted this season. Malamud's still bitter about Semin leaving.

Malamud used to be a good first source for anything Russian. The guy can go crawl back under a rock as far as I'm concerned now....

Just finished watching the game. Two points don't smell of course, but our PK has been disgusting. I have no idea why narrow defensive specialists (in face of Trotz and his staff) cannot fix this problem. Probably this roster is just uncoachable? You don't need huge talent to play PK effectively. It's just dirty work which doesn't require creative abilities. The proper system and good physical shape is what it needs.
