Sedins will be happy!
The reality is that we are going to spend close to the cap as this is what ownership wants. Eriksson is the best use of that cap space out there. While tanking is the obvious solution here it just isn't happening. Excited to see a two way pro like Loui play next season.

****! This really sucks. Bad contract. I can't believe (well actually I can) these idiots are going to pay Eriksson until he's 36. Stupid stupid stupid!!

He's quality and we desperately needed scoring

Not bad imo

Not impressed but not as bad as the Lucic and Ladd signings. Deal Sbisa and sign Hamhuis and I'll feel better about it.

The center position is a disaster, they have to address that too.

However, this is a safer signing than Lucic or Backes and would have been my first choice to begin with.

Don't agree with that - Lucic is three years younger than Eriksson and doesn't have the concussion history. I don't think Eriksson is 'safer' by any stretch.

Been saying all offseason that the money is getting spent regardless, so you might as well spend it on the top tier guys. Eriksson is that.

Hopefully the twins sold him on Vancouver by committing to play 6 more years.

Like I said previously sedins next contract will allow them to play 2-3rd line minutes at a discount to give the youth time to catch up and compete for a cup. Love the signing.

Could have been worse but why the hell you giving a 31 year old 6X6!?

Good player for now, but that contract is going to be ugly in a few years.

$6m a year cap hit...I like that. Less than I thought it would be. I'm pretty pleased with that, especially in contrast to some of the other things that are being tossed around out there.

Welp. 6x6. About what anyone would have predicted. Not an excellent signing, not a terrible signing. Just have to hope he ages gracefully and doesn't fall off a cliff.
