1 year I can absolutely live with. Decent upgrade on the blue line as a stop gap solution. Much rather see this and have him re-sign for one more year if it works out vs offering 2 (which I fully expected they would do) right from the get go.

Can't complain about any of the signings. Cole at 1 year gives them a risk-free top-four guy. His defensive impacts in a top-four role with TB were very strong.

I'm guessing Cole and Soucy both get tried with Hronek and Hughes, see, where they fit best, and both play a metric butt tonne of minutes on the PK.

I think it’s more like:

Hughes-Cole
Soucy-Hronek
Wolanin-Myers

With Myers hopefully on the trade block and his caphit reallocated to a more permanent RD or 3C solution.
