If the 'Nucks keep drafting d-men from the Q, surely one has to work out eventually...doesn't the law of averages take over after awhile?...Please:help:

So you prefer the way Benning talks about a player?

What's wrong with saying

"Brisebois is a two-way defenseman that drives plays by using his speed and hockey IQ. Possessed great vision and has a strong shot."

That has about the same amount of useful information as that whole paragraph had in 2 sentences.

i prefer less words instead of more. more words makes the person sound uninformed

If they're words like that scouting report posted, where it clearly feels like someone trying to reach a minimum word count on their homework assignment, then sure. On the whole though, with good scouts at least...more words = more information. More information is better, and makes a person sound more informed. In fact, it is more informed content, objectively.

It's just a matter of content in those words.

But then, you don't really seem to believe much in "scouting reports", so much as "box scores" and "statistics". So it's not particularly surprising that you'd find little value in actually describing a prospect in detail. ;)

scouts are also usually not english majors. its ok for them to be a little fluffy. the report that we're talking about though, as you mentioned, looks like hes aiming for a minimum word count
