Lineups based on last Game (aside from Holtby). I’m using Petey’s Swedish Card to give him a taste of home to hopefully help get him going. Yes I’m superstitious - it’s one of many flaws :)

With the way the Senators look, anything less than a regulation win is a disaster.
The Sens looked mediocre last game, but I fully expect them to be stiffer competition tomorrow night...I'd be very surprised if tomorrows game is a blowout.

Doesn’t have to be a blowout. But anything less than a regulation win is a disaster based on the Senators play.

The scoring chances were in the Sen’s favour, especially early. Their goalie stunk. If they square up with us on the goalie play they will (likely) beat us.

I'm expecting the Sens to do better this game. Apparently that last game was awful, even by their standards. There's no way the Canucks should be taking anything for granted right now.

Agreed, I think that was a poor game by the Sens..Fully expecting a team with a different mindset tomorrow.

You never take any NHL team lightly.

is ppl calling each other's canucks commentary toxic really a thing outside of this message board?

Drance tweeted last game after a shift how Pettersson looked on the bench and he got a few replies about being toxic, fueling a story that wasn't there etc.

All but 2 of the Canucks 7 goals were weak and most goaltenders in the league would have made those saves. And if Murray wasn't a sieve and it was 2-1 instead of a blowout, you know the Sens wouldn't have given up and it could have been a different result. The Canucks were still outplayed but got better goaltending (flashback to last season I guess). Demko looked awkward as hell early but got the job done. He was getting into a groove so I'd like to see him get this game as well (and play Holtby in the 2nd game of the back to back).

Can't get complacent with the 7-1 score. They need to be better this game.

2 of Sutter's goals were legit- and the other 0ne he was a nice top-corner backhand while surrounded by 2 sens dmen that both refused to check him 5 feet in front of the net. Pearson's was a breakaway, Hughes was left all alone in front after Bo rings it off both bars, Motte's goal he was unchecked 5 feet in front of the net, and Juolevi's goal was a nice screen by Horvat.

I think too much blame is being put on Murray, and not nearly enough on the Sens bad defense. Maybe they weren't outworked, but they had a lot of bad breakdowns against an offensively superior team. Wasn't Murray's best game, but credit has to go to the Nucks for pouncing on their chances and simply making better shots than Ottawa did when they got their opportunities.

Hopefully we can build some momentum and gain some confidence especially for our goalies. Our next run of games is against teams we are fighting for a playoff spot for, and we will need to start winning against teams other than the Oilers and Senators.
