Every year, when you get into garbage time at the end of the year, some players step up and look like they've got something. However, when you get back to reality in the next season, they usually fade. That said, you can have some hope, given the way some players are finishing off the season, that they could help the team in the future. . All of Silovs, Wolanin, Burroughs and even Juulsen have exceeded expectations. Others like Podkolzin, Aman and Joshua are looking much more like bona fide NHLers. Outside of that hope, these wins are meaningless. We have seen in the past, there is no carry over effect and they only screw up your draft.
Good
Silvos - at times lunging forward too much but he made a number of very good saves and was mostly steady. Good in the shoot out. Showing promise
Pettersson - in a class by himself. Elite talent will always win out (and that is why the draft is so important). Team was very fortunate to have taken him in the draft rather than Glass, who looks like a total bust.
Burroughs - moving so well with and without the puck. Is he better than OEL?
Hughes - maybe not as effective in this game but still dominated much of the play. Seems to have the puck all of the time.
Wolanin - game time continues to increase. Player showed again the range in his play. Can join the offense and still get back in the play defensively. Might be making himself more difficult to re-sign however.
Myers - continued a good string of games.
Not Good
Boeser - had zero impact. Had to look to find him. Doing nothing of consequence. Simply a plug in this one.
Dries - one of his poorer games especially in his end. Trying to catch up to the play all game.
Others
Kravtsov - little better. More in the play but must hold his feet better. You can't accomplish much when you are on your butt. When he joined the team he said something about being in the gym a lot, recognizing the need to get stronger. He's on the mark there. Him, Podkolzin and Klimovich all need to increase their lower body strength.
