Canucks just need better goaltending performances. That's the main factor this year on why Canucks are suffering in the standings.
On another note, reading the Oilers game day thread is an absolute treat.
Mark Spector’s Sportsnet article was pretty golden as well. Hard to tell who was more shook they lost to the Canucks - the Oilers or Spector.
That's the NHL for you. Oilers were coming off an emotional comeback win against the Stars on the road an 'big D' and were home and well rested, just waiting for the Canucks.Mark Spector’s Sportsnet article was pretty golden as well. It was a nice story but his chances of reproducing this in even the short term are pretty minimal. The guy is .888 in the AHL for goodness sake. You know, that when this Canuck teams gets superlative goaltending , they're a handful for any team. Last night Delia gave the Canucks the kind of goaltending they were getting last year from Demko, when they went on their run under Boudreau.
Outshot 10-0 in the early going, I counted at least six for seven eye-ball-to eye ball chances that Delia closed the door on. When the score was 2-1, he made at least three 10-bell saves, including a breakaway. A goal there, and the game is probably out of reach for the Canucks.
So how knows? Maybe when Demko returns and if he recovers his form, this entry of the Canucks could go on a run again. They're probably going to need last year's 32-15 record down the stretch just to squeeze in.
6 points out. they have 33 pts, last WC spot has 39 pts.But as of now, the Canucks are back at .500, but still five points adrift of the eighth and final playoff spot.
Number one!!!!!6 points out. they have 33 pts, last WC spot has 39 pts.
Last year at 33 games they were 3 points out.
15 wins and 18 losses. Ya, good enough for .500 in the NHL.
