Blew out a team they should have blown out. At this point, the Yotes would have trouble with Abby. Still a good game all round with some playing outstanding hockey.
Good
Pettersson- when it matter he was terrific. Ability to see the ice and play make is at a very elite level. If he can come back next season that little bit stronger and more mature, he should, with the right line mates, be dominant..
Miller - Arizona couldn't handle him. Simple as that. After some less than good performances bounced back with a great game. IMO a top ten player in this League.
Podkolzin - so much to like about his game. Looks like there is very little he can't do. Good along the boards Dangerous around the net. Great forechecker. Comes back hard defensively. You wonder how high the ceiling is with this player
Garland - pucks are starting to go in. Showed again, despite his size, he has a huge ability to keep control off the puck and distribute it. Has those quick bursts of speed and quick pivots to get around people and then find the open man. Showing, in Boeser absent, that he could be the scorer and play maker that Boeser was suppose to be. That makes Boeser a lot more expendab;e.
Myers -easily controlled the Arizona forwards. Banged Coyotes off the puck throughout and moved the puck up well from the back. OEL also had little troubling the Arizona's forwards and played well.
Chaisson - had good year in Edmonton a few years ago but this is probably the best he has looked in his NHL career. Not only the goals but his skating is getting him to places he wasn't getting to earlier in the season. And he is getting something done when he gets there. You wish he'd shown this earlier since the Canucks might have gotten something for him at the deadline. Yet you could equally make the case it is good they kept him around since he has been critical in this playoff run.
Others
Lockwood - played a lot and used his wheels to harass Arizona into mistakes. Probably his best game so far and he has, at least, established he can stay central in the play. Offensive tools appear limited but he was at least getting chances. In the end, however, will need to assess him against better competition than this in order to say much.
Dries - showed better. Looks like he has a decent stick and some ability to get in on the forecheck. But still very unlikely he is a bona vide NHL player
Richardson - thought he would provide nothing but he has quietly helped the team. Makes excellent decisions in terms of puck and game management and slyly makes picks which opens people up. Calgary probably could a have used him. You doubt he will be back but he's been a good stop gap player.
Hughes - got the three assists but had some very sloppy PP shifts. Didn't look up to par IMO
Dermott - never going to wow you but he was solid in this game. He and Hunt played a lot and rarely made mistakes. Game a step in the right direction for this player.
Dickinson - one of his better games. Played with more confidence and wasn't hanging back so much.
Injuries are stacking up. Hard to see how the team can survive if Horvat too is out. Still this team has been surprising everyone for awhile.
