Montreal, a Stanley Cup finalist just mere months ago.
They find themselves with injuries to key personnel and a start as bad as the Canucks.
There are differences though, the Canucks got to rest for an additional 2 months.

Ownership see's the team on the cusp of getting "professional" while losing, acceptance, so they clean house at the top. No letting a losing culture start there.

Now Montreal has been as dismal as the Canucks but with a change at the top an inspired effort should result, this is a group of players that were actually winning games months ago so the "memory" is still there.

Vancouver played last night, there was effort, there was great goal tending, there tons of shots, there were not enough goals. Often the Canucks are getting 7 or 8 shots that are more like dump ins, but they look good on the score sheet.

Boston is far from the powerhouse they were but they had much better scoring opportunities.

Both teams are in a slide but Montreal just got a bucket of water thrown in their face so a Montreal win should happen, rested and in truth this is a "scheduled win", playing a team with their 3rd game in 4 nights and the 2nd of back to back. Molson picked the right game to make his change, it should be an easy win for Montreal.

Battle of the titans, winner gets a better draft pick...er I meant the losing team both teams are toast for this season.

Montreal will get that dead cat bounce I keep hearing so much about and win easily.

The last couple of games ,the Canucks played well enough to win..imo...3 of the last 4 games , they've had the game snatched away from them in the 3rd...A solid symptom of a fragile hockey team, that cant close out a game (the opposing teams are acutely aware of this ).

Most likely see the same thing tonight...a promising start, a squandered end.

I would say that the Canucks have played better in the first 40 minutes in each of their last few games, but the teams they've been playing look absolutely terrible at the same time and then when they actually turn it up in the last period the Canucks just can't stay with them.
