I wonder if Vandermeer sees anytime at forward if we need some more toughness.

I gotta stop listening to radio... all these callers saying that we don't have depth on D. they must be expecting pre-cap era Wings or something.

we have no #1 yes as most recognise.

but Hammer, Garrison, Edler are capable #2s

Bieksa is a good #3 on most teams

Tanev is an elite #5

Alberts is what you want for #6

Ballard is miscast.... otherwise he's a #4 on most teams, a possible #2 even on bad teams.

Corrado should be good enough as our #7 from the few games we've seen him play. Joslin I have no idea.....

Barker should not be playing in the big leagues if you ask me, but for the limited role he plays, I can live with him being available.

We are top 5 even I would say.

No, I mean our d depth after Edler, Hamhuis, Garrison, Bieksa, Tanev, Alberts and Ballard. Barker? Corrado? Andersson? Joslin? ewww...
We keep typing this, but what do other teams depth look like? I mean our top 6 is probably in the top 5 of the league. I'm not sure what people expect from the 7-12th defensman range.

Barker isn't as bad as people think.

He is at what his job is supposed to be "defending".

Barker isn't as bad as people think.

He's much worse than I thought possible. The only time he looks slightly useful is when he is in the opposing teams zone. Many posters who had seen him on his other teams warned us at how bad he was, I didn't believe it until I actually saw him play for an extended period of time. He's one of the worst defenders that I've seen on this team in a long time, right up there with a 38 year old Eric Weinrich.

I guess I'll take an elite #5 over a good #3. :sarcasm:

With the emergence of Corrado, Barker is now #9 on the D depth chart.

Having 8 NHL capable D is pretty good depth.

:) If we get 9 deep into our def pool in the playoffs we probly aren't gonna win anyway.

where's Polasek?
From what I heard, he started playing really well the last part of the season.
