Think of it this way: if that was even an option on the table for this team as constructed, why wouldn't they make the payment in the offseason so they could actually add talent with the money without paying additional assets?

GMBM moved on from Trotz, tried Rierden instead, then Laviolette for too long. He invested heavily in Oshie, Backstrom, Wilson, Kuz. We’re now seeing the results of 5 yrs of GMBM management. And it doesn’t look great
