I absolutely love the passion this tournament brings every year.

Tomorrow it will finally feel like the real deal. Two huge games involving the top 4 teams, then on to the elimination round.

:handclap:

Why would he give Canada even more motivation then they already have to beat anyone and anything in there way to a fifth gold medal. And is it just me or is there a good chance Sweden and Canada do not even meet again. If Canada wins there pool and swedan wins theres Chances are they would have to face the Amaricans in the semi's. Good luck with that Sweds. Just saying its possible. Maybe he should focus on the Amaricans first. And wait untell they know that they are even privileded enough to play Canada. IMO the sweds are the third best team this year and Russia is no joke either.

Nah, pretty sure Russia did win a gold medal with AO on their team.

Did Ovechkin chirp as a 16 year old third liner? No. He wasn't remembered for making comments about the Canadian crapping their pants.

You bringing up his team's win when he was 16 year old is completely irrelevant.

A wee bit bold to already take a final against Canada for granted, but hey it's much better too think a bit to high of yourself than the opposite which never lead anywere.

First real test is Russia.

Ovechkin was on the 1st line for 2003 WJC champions.....he was centered by Trubachev.

Privileded enough to meet Canada??? What???????? This is the reason to MSP:s comment. You Canadians thinks you are always damn great. Superior all other teams. But last year you weren't THAT superior, right? At least not against the Swedes.

And how you know that Sweden is the third best team??? Maybe you should wait to say that after the semis????? It's high possible that Sweden will beat USA in the semis (if they will meet) so I just say: Good luck with that USA!

Love the comments, nice to see some passion thrown into the mix. Although if Della Rovre or Cormier devote their attention to cranking this guy, he'll probably have achieved exactly what he wanted. Hit him iff the opportunity presents itself in play, don't go out of your way to do it.

Can't wait for the big games to begin!
