One of the all time great Oilers. Hopefully his jersey goes up in the rafters next season.
Not even for the Wild, they dumped him YEARS ago.Wow, had no idea he was still playing. Wild
Whiffed, but still managed to turn him into Nick Leddy... the Wild... not sure what the hell they were thinking on that trade...It's crazy that the Hawks became a quasi-dynasty while whiffing this badly on a top pick.
Scored a goal in Gagner's eight-point game.
Best of luck in his future career.
The Wild bailed out the Hawks with possibly their worst ever trade. It's crazy that the Hawks became a quasi-dynasty while whiffing this badly on a top pick.
Feels like any time I saw Barker in the NHL I could never understand why he was drafted so high.
Maybe Brent. With Gretzky's skills he would have been Gretzky.
the dude had 40 points in khl in 1 season...just a monster of a player.
That was Adam Burish. Barker was already traded by thenWasn't he the one who chirped Pronger by saying he was going to beat him up the next season, only to have Pronger respond with "I don't play in the minors"?
He wasn't soft with the hawks. He would step up with a big hit occasionally or fight on another players behalf. Wasn't a bad player better then Jordan Hendry. But we had the opportunity to get rid of his contract as he was making 3 mil a season and better players for that price. The guy had a lot of skill but he was one of the least aggressive, most laid back, least physical, softest NHL players I have ever seen.
Heh, Barker looks very dopey in that photo.
And then there were seven...or 11 or 12, depending on how you count it
He wasn't a quick thinker. As everyone else immediately got into photo mode flashing their finger as #1, he was still trying to figure out why he's standing there and whether he should put up his finger like everyone else.Heh, Barker looks very dopey in that photo.
Everything I saw of him on the Oilers is the guy had no urgency in his game at all.He wasn't soft with the hawks. He would step up with a big hit occasionally or fight on another players behalf. Wasn't a bad player better then Jordan Hendry. But we had the opportunity to get rid of his contract as he was making 3 mil a season and better players for that price.
