Per Portzline.

I would rather we have traded him for 2 reasons.

1 - He is getting paid too much.
2 - He is not a good fit for our current coach. This would not be an issue if we would just get a new coach like I prefer.

Jackets really banking on Cam to start finishing those chances. Maybe he'll loosen the grip on the stick now he knows he's going to stay. 3.5 is too much for current Cam but if he starts finishing opportunities it'll be a good deal for us.

not if he's utilized correctly, still has 20+ goal potential/ability
While I agree, with every contract Kekalainen brings in/signs, I'm less and less confident in his ability as a negotiator. The only contract negotiation id say he won is Johansen. Plus Cam is an RFA, he shouldn't get that much...

What world are you people living in? $3.5m/year is perfectly fine for a second-liner, and that's exactly what Cam is right now. This is a great deal.
