The other thing I enjoy is "it's all teams below them in the standings" when at the start of the streak, most of these teams were above them in the standings!
The other funny thing, when Vancouver looks at their last 10 games, they think they've been top teams, because people still "believe" that the Rangers, Isles and Pens are really good, but not as much this year lol

On one hand we should not read too much into one shootout performance.

On the other we can recognize that Pickard has done very well in a game that was much harder to backstop than the avreage night in that 15 win stretch.

Pickard was once again fantastic. The media and a lot of people keep saying EDM needs a "true back up" but he's been great. His rebound control is excellent and he fights like hell in his net.

In fact, I think he needs more starts. The fact that he's been this good when he plays once every 2 weeks is impressive. I feel like he's being thrown under the bus still and his play speaks otherwise. Would another "true back up" at the deadline help? Sure. But there's no reason to believe Pickard can't continue to do the job. JMO.
Except the years and years of being terrible in the NHL previously. I agree through he needs more starts and some more difficult starts. Who knows maybe we got one of those late bloomers but in a season this important we need to know for sure.

We can’t have a repeat of last playoffs. We need to have a backup we know can at least tread water against a team like Vegas if Skinner struggles.

Just watched highlights and LOL at league just not caring about hooking down Hyman with an empty net. Reaffirmed to keep my monetary support of the league where it's at!

Or that non call late for delay of game puck over the glass. These refs and league are beyond obvious with this game management garbage and it’s bush league garbage that needs out of the game with Bettman.

I'm wondering if it will actually be Perry sitting for Perry tomorrow night? Will they even play him during the streak at this point especially if he's still being whipped into game shape?

I think that's why they wanted to get him into a bunch of practices this week. I'm sure he kept himself in shape during his time off, so I think he'll be fine. And if you think a guy will be able to help you, you need to get him into the lineup at some point, winning streak or not. This is big picture.

Poor Samwise. Its like throughout his career he's the good player getting kicked to the curb, sent to the minors, benched, healthy scratched. All he ever does is compete and make plays.

Guy is 3 goals away from 200, was hoping he'd get that milestone. Hope he's not being parked again longterm.

Why does a team have more loyalties invested in say Connor Brown than a good soldier that has been here 3X?

No room for loyalty when you want to win. Look at Vegas. As for Gags, he'll be back in soon enough. This is the exact reason he is here. Older bottom 6 vet with heart, can come in and out of the lineup and won't pout about it. Knowing him he might get those 3 goals his first game back in.

Sam is an instant offense guy that we can plug into the lineup if we are struggling to score. Right now he is good depth for us but I'm not sure that he's an effective everyday NHLer. He might be best used as a 40-50 game guy to keep fresh.

So why does Scoreless Connor Brown who hasn't scored an NHL goal in last 56GP keep getting in? To play 2mins of pk a night and be completely useless in his other 10mins?

NHL is a results based pro sport.

We're entering a stage of the season where officials have basically put their whistles in the pockets and seeing few man advantages. Not that helpful to have just a pk specialist in lineup when hardly any penalties are being called.

Plus I fail to see what or how Connor Brown is contributing directly to winning. Is he the lucky charm?

Connor Brown would be planted in the AHL in Vegas. he wouldn't be anywhere near the NHL with this kind of performance. Vegas wouldn't even have given him the 10 games.

Sam has played in 4 games this year. Not like he's gonna be tired out from that. Sam can also take Browns 2mins a night on the pk. With Gagner we have at least the potential of offense and he plays a better 200ft game than Brown now.

I agree with you on this completely and I am major fan of Gagner. Smart player and as you said he is essentially instant offence in the bottom 6.

I really see his value in the playoffs when you can roll players in and out of the bottom 6 to fit the opponent and also to reduce the wear and tear.

Gagner hasn’t played much but he’s taken some monster shots in pretty much every game he has been in. I’m surprised he’s been able to play as much as he has. I’m guessing he gets spot duty the rest of the way. He’s proven he can be valuable for a game or two every time he gets back in. Might as well keep him as fresh as possible. If there’s going to be a rotation of players then Brown should certainly be part of it though, he’s done nothing to have a permanent roster spot.
