IIRC Bure benefited more from a d-man who could thread him an outlet pass just as he was hitting top speed.

Him and Jeff Brown for a longer time would've been money. I have no doubt Bure could've worked a cycle well, but his bread and butter was off the rush and one-man efforts.

I'm saddened by the lack of love for Wellwood.

He would be here for me if not for his defensive game.

It pains me a bit we could've put together a line of any combination of Ruutu, Cooke, Burrows, and Kesler and it may have been the most annoying line in the league.

I love to fantasize about a top-4 of Ohlund/Edler/Salo/Tanev, all in their prime. So injury prone but so, so good. Maybe throw Hamhuis or Willie Mitchell in the mix. Or Bieksa/Jovo if you want some flair.

2000-2015 was a glorious time for Canucks defensemen.

Miller-Horvat-Smyl (match-ups line even if defense isn't their natural forte + can set the tone physically + chip in offence)

Hughes-Tanev (PMD + classic stabilizing presence that can also move the puck and take on defensive responsibilities)

This defense in its entirety checks every single box. Twins have proven that they can play without one another at a superstar level.
