It still makes no sense to me why they didn't buy him out last summer.

He was liked and they gave him an opportunity. When it became clear he wasn't it, they sent him down and he didn't do a lot with his time in Rochester to push back up to the show. There was no reason to carry his cap hit past whatever they paid him to be a depth piece this year.

Because it had nothing to do with giving him another shot in the NHL instead of being buried in Roch since he was likely going to not be qualified anyways.

People forget this is real life and not a video game or fantasy football sometimes. Relationships and taking care of people is a large part of the job.

Why is VO getting thrown under the bus? Leading up to the AS break, he was our most consistent goal scorer outside of Tuch and TNT. I get that he may not fit into our long term plans, but what about him warrants a lowball return?

One of those moves that may not seem like much but is one of those goodwill gestures that pays off in the long run. I dig it.

Reminds me of them sending Torrey Mitchell to his home town. If they are trying to change perceptions of the team, they have to do it one relationship at a time and this is doing something for Bjork the person. From all accounts, he was a good guy and I'm sure his now former teammates will like this for him.
