Rumor: Bruins shopping Jake DeBrusk

Left wing Jake DeBrusk, Boston Bruins: It seems as if the Bruins are leaning toward trading restricted free agent DeBrusk, 23, rather than awarding him a hefty raise. It is perplexing, given that DeBrusk has 62 goals over his first three seasons. The Hurricanes, Predators and Stars are among teams shopping for scorers. DeBrusk is also young enough to fit into the Red Wings’ and Devils’ rebuild.

A bit of a surprise.

No reason to trade him unless he requested one. could be a strong arm move to get him to sign for less than his worth

Wouldn't be surprised if Rask requested a trade and is moved also. Bruins fans torched him for no good reason.

Very streaky player. Hard to evaluate his value.
Quite sure we will regret trading him.

Saad for Debrusk?

B's are trying to win one more with this core before window passes so Saad can score like Debrusk but is far superior all around player and would fit in well with that push and B's lineup.

Debrusk is younger and should be cheaper as RFA.. Needs alot of work around rest of his game outside of scoring but would fit in with Hawks effort to get younger and reopen contending window

Aren't the B's big on this kid ? He looks like he'd be a legitimate 2nd line winger, would be a mistake IMO.

"It doesn't help Fleury's marketability that veteran Henrik Lundqvist will be a free agent after he is bought out by the Rangers."

Wait since when was it determined that Lundqvist is being bought out?

It's pretty much assumed by everyone at this point, unless Hank just decides to retire.

Wait since when was it determined that Lundqvist is being bought out?

He has an 8.5 million dollar cap hit and 4.5 million salary. That's a pricey backup.

Pretty recently. You didn't miss anything. :)

Either going to be a buyout or there were rumblings he is considering retiring.

What are Boston's organizational needs?

2RW has been our need for like 5 seasons now. Top 4 LD probs aswell if Krug leaves.
Or picks, I dont know what Sweeney is thinking right now.

Me neither. It's odd to see him out there unless this is another one of Neely's his 'won't buy in' guys.

I think the Oilers have young assets that would be of interest.
