Seems like Donny has a knack for picking these College players. I love it because it’s a lot easier to keep track of NCAA players here in the states. Hall and Olsen both look like they could be real players.

I am also a huge fan of signing undrafted college kids. Everyone here is right. Please go get Nick Wolf.

since he's a junior now, that would probably mean boston needs to put the full court press
on him to come out after maine's season is finished. sort of the point of no return these days,
with the seniors having the ability to go to august and pick a team.
I'm on the fence trying to get him early, Maine has been good for him development wise but getting the degree aside he's really got nothing left to prove,I'm not worried he'd stiff the Bruins if he stayed

no idea if it's the same course in the AHL as it is in the NHL so I don't know if the numbers are actually comparable, but if they are then holy crap @ Studnicka being faster than MacKinnon.

What some were saying way back when (I believe most of these were in 2017, pre-draft):

Dominic Tiano:

tl;dr - People viewed his skating all over the place.

Thanks for that. It kind of confirms what I thought in that it was not something that people talked about as far as being a standout, elite-level quality of his (Dom kind of excepted there). This is why I was surprised that he apparentl;y has become elite enough to do the skills competition and put up a Kreider-like time in that event.

The one thing that the Bruins can offer is a path to be a #1. Rask is 33 in a month, Halak will be 35 in May. There's no heir apparent. I wouldn't worry too much even if he went back for a 4th year.

Studnicka put up a fast time at the AHL skills competition, 13.804, but didn't win.
2020 AHL All-Star Skills Competition

There was a typo in the write-up of the NHL results, which may have been the source of confusion.

Mathew Barzal 13.175 (winner)
Connor McDavid 13.215
Chris Kreider 13.509
Jack Eichel 13.540
Nathan MacKinnon 13.895
Anthony Duclair 14.005
Travis Konecny 14.113
Quinn Hughes 14.263

It's unfair to compare guys on different surfaces. The quality of the ice is a massive factor.
