IDEALLY Bruins can get someone that can push Krejci down a line and negate the other top Atlantic team's middle 6 center advantages. And IDEALLY that person is of an age between Krejci and the Studnicka/JFK/Frederic group.

Not a lot of high end #2C in their prime out there, though, so likely looking for a middle six vet.

Beyond that, I think you can be pretty sure the Bruins wouldn't have their 1st on the table unless we are talking about a guy with term. Just because they gave one up last year.

Most likely to move in no order: Donato, Bjork, Heinen, Cehlarik, JFK, Frederic, Zboril, Lauzon, Grzyleck, or Krug.

I think they were really hoping one of the kids was ready at camp for that 3c role.

For whatever reason they felt like they weren’t.

For the time being Backes needs to get over his centre amnesia and keep playing there. Ya he’s slow. So what. Stay high in the attacking zone, let the wingers run around and dig pucks out.

Don’t get scored on for 45 seconds and let Bergeron come over the boards. They won’t be the first team doing it.

They’ll have lots of money by the TDL to go shopping. More guys will pop up as available by then too.

Upgrade over Krejci is a tough ask, can't see many of those available and/or would be expensive. Krejci is a solid 2C, I figured Boston looking to upgrade over Backes at 3C. I suggested Bryan Little who is a two way 2C good for 45-55 points & good at Face offs. Could likely land Little for a futures package, if the Jets flipped Trouba for Nylander (both Trouba & Nylander would need to agree to long term deals beforehand).

Boston makes out like bandits in this trade. Don't give up anyone and are included in this deal because Winnipeg likes them.

Yeah, don’t see many upgrades on Krejci out there and certainly not for the pieces listed. Wish Little’s contract didn’t have that term. I love that he can be shifted over to wing if one of the Bruins young Cs gets ready. But, thats a lot of term for a team with some older guys already.

That’s why he could likely be had for futures only.....cap hit is fine...term 1-2 years too much.

#1 centre and likely captain next year, no dice. Maybe if we win the lose for Hughes sweepstakes. Anyway, isn’t Boston pretty set at centre?
Bergeron, Krejci and Backes are all in their 30’s so they could use a younger center with top 6 upside. The prospects aren’t ready and Backes isn’t producing as the 3C.

Frans Nielsen+ or Andreas Athanasiou+ for Krug?

#2C is a weakness for Bostong right now(contending wise).

Tuesday nights Hockey Central updates scrolled that Boston is looking at Matt Duchene, and Ottawa giving Boston permission to speak with Duchene's agent.

Take it for what it's worth - doesn't mean it's happening.
