Coach Jim Montgomery revealed after his team’s optional skate at Warrior Ice Arena that Andrew Peekeis “week to week” with an injury, taking one of the team’s sturdiest defensemen out of the equation.

Peeke, who will not travel with his teammates to Toronto for Games 3 and 4, played just 10:20 in Monday’s 3-2 loss in Game 2, exiting in the second period when a shot from Tyler Bertuzzi struck him in the hand.

Another stay-at-home defensive option could be Derek Forbort, who will travel with the team. Forbort, once seemingly lost for the season after undergoing surgery following the trade deadline, is “day to day,” per Montgomery, but won’t play in Game 3.

what happened to brandon carlo. Did not come out for overtime in game 5 ?
Wow, no word ?
Not at practice today. The article also said "Even if Carlo does suit up against the Leafs on Thursday, he is unlikely to offer much in the way of offensive production" which is funny considering he is the only Defensmen to have a goal in the series.

Also funny because when has anybody expected Brandon Carlo of all people to produce offensively.

If we are hanging our hat on whether Brandon Fricking Carlo is in or out of the lineup then we have more problems than I even thought

Nah don't need one of our top 2 defensive defenseman, who was playing 22+ min a game the first 4 games. Especially as our #3 RHD is also out of the lineup, and our #4 RHD was out of the lineup yesterday either because of injury or the coach thinking he was unplayably bad

But sure we don't need carlo

Top two?

Yeah, ok.

I’d rather have Shattenkirk, actually.

That’s the problem exactly. Brandon Carlo on most teams would be a fifth or sixth defenseman. The fact that he elevated to a top slot on our team says everything. Yes, the same Brandan Carlo, who keeps us hemmed in our end time after time inability to win board battles or just clear the zone. Always an adventure when he is on the ice. I miss Peek a hell of a lot more

Yeah, because Top 3 D'man mean so little. He's like Rodney Dangerfield to this board, no respect.
Yes he doesn't score points, yes he doesn't plaster opponents to the boards, two of the biggest sexiest things a D'man can do, but He is a integral part of the PK, and shuts down a lot of offensive chances. I'd rather him in the line up than not.

Appologies to Gee Wally, just saw your post to sticking it to injuries.

I know it is notoriously quiet this time of year, but do we have anything on Peake or Heinen? Any whispers out there?

Today’s Globe:

Sweeney had good news regarding banged-up Bruins Andrew Peeke and Danton Heinen. “I expect everybody at some point in time to be available in this series,” Sweeney noted ...
