That was a legit penalty, he clearly stuck his foot out and grabbed him with his open hand.

At least our PK was good tonight?

Felt like a road win but whatever. 2 points. Bring on the Habs!

I could have really used the ENG.... oh well, game OVER.

I am glad to see Richards pot one after a promo. He may be better than any F we can add at the deadline.

At least there was 2018.

Gave a bad team too many chances.
Backstrom either needs some rest or a game in the press box.
Nice to see the 1st line not playing like trash for a couple of games.
Happy for Richards.
No skill Tom keeps within 2 assists behind AO.
Carlson came back too early.

Just checking...

Do you realize that we will probably never see another season like this from the Caps, maybe from any team? This is historic-level domination. It's not always pretty or perfect, but it is ****ing amazing. You should try and enjoy it a little.

Winning, it's the only thing.

I am  but we all understand that the true history will come after this regular season's over, however awesome it ends up being.

We took many penalties, other than that they didn't really have a lot of chances at ES.
Of all the players on the team, Backstrom deserves to have the longest leash. He has carried the Caps for so many years offensively and defensively. Until last year in the playoffs, the C depth behind him was putrid.

It's not like these games matter anyway. Backstrom and Carlson are allowed to suck for now.

Ive got to think that its quite likely that Nick is still recovering from the hip surgery
last Summer. He wasn't ready for the start of the season..and hasn't looked 100%
like himself all season to me. Don't think a night in the press box is going to 'make things
better' if thats the case.

4 wins in a row and 9-1 in their last 10.
On pace for 130 points.
They have more road wins than any other team has home wins except for themselves and Chicago.
Pretty ridiculous stuff.
As long as they keep their heads on straight they'll be fine.

The Caps will basically say 'Come at me, bro' to the rest of the league until they're repeatedly humbled. It's a tall task.

You'd like for them to be working on certain areas within their game, adding wrinkles to the PP or cementing offensive chemistry but they're pretty content to rely on the system, keep it tight and capitalize at key moments. The recent extended O zone shifts leading to goals have been great. They'll need more of those crucial sequences in the spring.

As dominant as we appear in the standing, it doesn't feel like we are blowing teams out. Lots of very close games.

Which isn't a bad thing. (Playoff games are generally close games, so it's good to get in the habit of winning close games). Just more of an observation.

If chimera or ovechkin could finish a couple of their chances, this game isn't close

Well we lead the league in +/- so we have to have the most blowouts

Trotz mentioned how comfortable we are playing in 1 goal games. As you mentioned, it's a good habit to practice defending 1 goal leads. Remember how we used to blow leads all the time before Trotz came?

One of the reasons we're 44-10-4 is that we simply do not allow teams to come back when we have a lead.

Just recently..I chalk it up to playing desperate teams and just another game for the Caps...but yes good to see we can win 1 goal games.
