Once again, Bennett still has room to develop. He'll be cheaper than Kadri. He had a better playoffs. The organization is very high on Bennett, and he's exactly the kind of depth player every team pays a large sum for at the deadline each year.

I honestly don't think Bennett was on the table.

I guess we will agree to disagree, but I don’t think the leafs were asking for Bennett regardless.

Brodie/Jankowski > Barrie/Kerfoot
Bennet+Hamonic@50% is closer in value.

Bennet is more of a grinder, Kerfoot is better offensively.
Hamonic is better defensively, Barrie is the opposite.

IMO this deal would be roughly as beneficial. Leafs would have been better defensively, and worse offensively.

Not sure why fans argue over which city is better . It all opinion base on what each person values .

Vancouver is the most beautiful big city in Canada but they have some weird logic . Back in my 80s a judge ruled that people could have child porn , like what the hell ! My sister in-law was stabbed to death and the guy only got 2 years . Stab 22 times and the loser gets 2 years . It’s a seaport so lots of drugs find their way into the hands of kids . I for one would not live there again .

Toronto on the other hand has very little to offer in my eyes . I do not drink or do drugs , never have in my life . Even my pain meds I refuse . I also lived I. Toronto and would not go back .

Now Calgary is my favourite city of all of them but as I said it base on my life style and my opinion .

Every city has their good and their bad as long as you happy where you live it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks .

Remember Edmonton was good enough for some of the best players in the history of the game and everyone bashed the city today . Winning matters and Calgary isn’t winning anytime soon . The Avs got a great up and coming team.

I'm not talking night life, economics etc, I'm saying Vancouver is too cold for my taste. I genuinely do not enjoy feeling cold in the middle of July. Nobody is disputing Vancouver has better beaches, after all, it does have access to the largest ocean in the world.

Unfortunately the only thing that "cool Summer breeze" does it make it feel as if it's still Spring outside. Say what you like about Toronto, but at least it feels like summer there. I'm typically spending my days swimming in a pool when I visit there, and it's quite enjoyable.

I'm not saying Vancouver is a terrible place to live, I'm saying I wouldn't want to spend my entire summer feeling like I'm stuck in the middle of May.
Breezes don't start until the sun goes down and last for sundown only. Even then, they don't feel cold. Vancouver feels very hot in the summer. It's average temperatures are brought down by the sporadic rainy days

You spend the entire day in a pool? Lol where? A public pool?

Maybe you went to Vancouver once and it happened to be raining that day.

You are honestly the first person who has ever spoken highly of Toronto's brutally humid summer.

Anyways, here's the actual temperatures

Vancouver is the only city that hits thirty or above in July. There was also a ten day period where Vancouver was 28 or above, so more sustained heat too. So this kind of disproves your whole argument.

Well of course if the Leafs win the Cup all bets are off.

Let's say the Leafs don't win the Cup and Barrie walks. How do you feel about it?
I feel it's a move that Dubas had to make. Our D needs work, and Kadri is wasted on the 3rd line. I would feel the same if the deal was made for Brodie. It's not like we could pick any Dman we wanted...Dubas had to work with what was offered.

Chris Johntson said it would have been a three way deal between Calgary, Toronto and Winnipeg.

Said Kadri was asked to waive for Calgary, and it would have been the same sort of deal where TOR would get a d-man (Brodie) and a center.

He isn't sure what would be exchanged between Winnipeg and Calgary or Toronto and Winnipeg,

This would have broken HF for sure.

Is Winnipeg expected to have extra cap space? They have 20 million, but only 9 forwards under contract with Laine and Connor left to sign.

That's a weird one....don't the Jets need D as well?
