Also worth noting: The two people most responsible for growing the game in NC are (arguably) Francis and Brindamour. They're also the ones most likely to fight against relocation. Dundon's already got rid of one of them.

Ahh, so his long con is put Brind'Amour in a position to fail so the fanbase will be able to stomach his firing in a couple of years, then he's able to complete his relocation plan. Dumb post is dumb.

Just bringing up a quote from a previous N&O article:

“You get the feeling we’re either going to kill it or we’re going to get killed. To be honest, I like taking that chance. Obviously we’ve been mired in, whatever the word is, mediocrity or whatever, but I think everybody would like to see us in one place or the other but not stuck in the middle. Tom wants to know what’s going on at every level and improve it at every level.”

So, what is less than nothing but replacement of bottom six washouts?

What you suggest is probably what will happen and maybe it's good to give some of these guys a chance under a different coach. I do think there is a good chance that 1 of Skinner, Faulk, Lindholm or Hanifin will be moved. Maybe Rask too, but I don't see wholesale changes along with signing high profile guys.

The PP was horrifying last year outside of Aho/TT making their own magic. Hard to be inspired that Brind’Amour will lead the team to success given his past performance.
Shocking, the PP was horrible when the only 2 guys on the roster who could consistently score weren't on the ice. I mean its like maybe we just didn't have enough playmakers and Brindy was tasked with a failing job, and instead of blame him for it, Waddell, Dudley, and Dundon recognize he was able to make (albeit slightly) something out of worse than nothing and want to see what he can do on a bigger scale.

Why not? Dundon already got this fanbase to accept Waddell as GM, and all that took was an "all flash and no substance" GM "search".

Francis has been part of a completed relocation and spent the past 5 years hearing rumors of ours. Other than boilerplate comments I don’t remember him ever “fighting” anything.

Struggling franchise brings in 2 guys who were instrumental in the clown show before the Thrashers moved, low balling GM candidates and hiring a head coach from within when your franchise has sucked donkey balls for almost a decade.

I'm not sure what our doofus owner is up to, but it really doesn't look too good right about now. I was duped by this sleazeball.

Still don't miss the old guard though, they are the reason we are in this situation to begin with.

That’s fine logic, then answer this:

The Canes had a much more even PP split than most other teams. Near 50/50 while some teams like Washington ran 80/20.

If you only had two players who could score, then why split the time 50/50? When the rest of the NHL is closer to 70/30? Is that Brind’Amour’s decision? I’d say it was a prettty shitty one given your base logic.

Can we please, for my sanity’s sake, hold off on the f***ing relocation talk for I dunno 5 or 6 years? We “won” this round, why reintroduce the same shit months later. We’re here for 7 more years, we’ll have to sign a new arena lease which will probably push that date out further, and we’ve got an owner spending money on improving the arena and practice facilities. I get it, this move isn’t what I wanted either. But cool it with the conspiracy master plan
