It's time to get a reality check, there will be no hockey this spring or summer.

We heard just yesterday the government could start lifting a few rules by end of August but they also expect a second wave a month or 2 after that.

This is going to be at least 18 months of dealing with this according to the research. The only thing that would save the NHL season is if in a couple months everyone decides to just accept the fact that 1% of the population will die. Could happen to save the economy.
I don’t think it’ll be back this summer - all through 2020 is a lot longer than that.

The virus may not even start peaking until May or late May. No way companies will consider opening their offices when the death rate is through the roof. Sweden is far ahead of the US and it’s looking more likely our peak may be late April.

It’ll obviously vary geographically as the US is so big but being back in the office in May seems incredibly unlikely.
Even if the peak is late May, no hockey all through calendar year 2020 is way more than is necessary or will happen imo

people can catch it again? can you be reinfected?
Yes, it can and has happened. But supposedly the second time is less rough. Perhaps because antibodies were formed in the body from the original infection, lending a bit of a body immunity and shortening the recovery time.

We really don't know if you can catch it twice. Hopefully as this goes on we'll have more data.

There are quite a few articles out there on it from various medical experts, a quick google search will reveal the rest but they all essentially say the same thing.

Can you catch coronavirus twice? It’s complicated

There is the tiny little detail of only allowing people in essential industries to cross the border. Government is correct in not allowing those persons in non-essential industries to cross the border. I suspect this will remain in place for several months which would make conducting the remainder of the NHL season impossible.
If everyone was in one place playing to empty stands, it is possible to have a safe and quarantined playoffs. It would require a ton of work to arrange. All it takes is the work ethic to lobby for it and pull it off
