Someone mentioned Zucc. He came with a great motor and skills but his skating wasn't great. It improved over the next few seasons but if wasn't great to start. Berard is a much better skater but I don't think he has the high-end offense of Zucc. He actually scores a lot of goals around the net, which will be one of the interesting things to see as he steps into the pro game--how he holds up in those areas.

Zucc carved out a career despite his size because he was so shifty and because he had some of the best vision/passing in the game.

Sounds like Berard plays a different kind of game, and his size might limit his effectiveness at the NHL level.

Zucc was oozing with much more skill IMO.

Zuccarello was also much older when he signed with the Rangers. And even he didn't become an NHL regular until he was 26.
