Lucic has negative value, but he is still young and maybe a change of scenery could help. Saads contract is pretty bad himself, but the Oilers add value to offset the trade.

Yeah of course halfway through a season in which he’s shooting 31% and having a career first half of the year. He actually will have value at the deadline too. I also said that Saad isn’t worth that first round pick. He’s gonna score 45-50 points 5 on 5 and kills penalties, good in the corners, contributes when he’s not scoring.

Our defence is borderline as is and Nurse is our defacto best defenceman with Klefbom out and Larsson struggling under the increased workload.

I wouldn’t give up Nurse alone never mind add a lotto pick.
