the trade was for a second round pick. We happened to pick Ross with it.
IIRC the trade happened right before the selection, so you basically can say it was Hayes for Ross.

Lol does Ross actually wanna be a golfer? I'm so gullible lol.
You can't be serious. It's actually not captain hindsight at all. Burke came in and wanted to put a mini stamp on the team by clearing out random bodies he had no idea about. Paradis for Tlusty after a few months on the job, Brad Ross for Hayes, etc. He wasn't too familiar with the system but also needed to make a move during the 2010 draft when we had given up the Seguin pick.

Sure their not the drafting powerhouses they used to be when they were drafting guys like Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Kronwall, Howard, Holmstrom, Hudler, Filppula, Fleischmann, Ericsson, Osgood, Knuble, Primeau, Kozlov, Lidstrom, Fedorov, Drake, Konstantinov, etc. in the late-80's through early-00's, but for a team that hasn't picked higher than 19th Overall in 23 years, I'd say they've done an impressive job keeping their prospect cupboard stocked.
