Brad Richards to Detroit, 1 year, $3m

I'm... confused. This is such a Holland move.

Trade has to follow this to make cap and depth chart make sense - something significant has to be moved to have this make sense

Well, I like it. Because I like Brad Richards. One year is fine for a stopgap center with high skill.

But this is surely a signal somebody is getting traded, right?

At least we've moved on to signing other teams' leftovers. So that's progress.

I'm fine with this. But now it's either Quincey or Ericsson who has to be traded.

How much has he got left in the tank, didn't watch the hawks much in the playoffs? Is he still a bit of a playoff specialist?

Is he a 3C these days or able to handle 2C?

So does this mean Sheahan is available in a trade for a Dman? Would make sense.

Don't dislike the trade, just wish it didn't look like we were signing the Hawks scraps.
