He really better not get hurt this season. Because unless he scores 80 points he still needs to be bought out next July.

It's a big risk. So is entering the season with 3 proven NHL centers. So is overpaying Vinny L, Weiss, or Filppula.

I understand being upset about it. Could get ugly. I've got my fingers crossed.

All long time Rangers fans know in the bottom of their hearts that Brad Richards will probably get injured in March or April and miss next summer's buyout period. Its inevitable at this point.

This is a giant mistake IMO. Even if he returns to the hockey player he was in his prime, it still wouldn't be a good decision.

I hope he doesn't get injured....:crossfing

My last hope is that this means the Rangers have had interest from teams in trading for Richards, but they felt teams were holding out for him to be bought out.

Doesn't he have a no movement clause in his contract?

If he gets a small injury, technically he can't be bought out... unless he goes the Drury route. I posted this a while ago. Wouldn't it be better for him financially if he allows a buyout if he has an injury that's small enough to deal with? Obviously this wouldn't happen if it's a career-ending injury, but if it's small, there's nothing to worry about.

I'm a fan of this.

Don't mind giving him another year to see how he'll do. If he gets a major injury wouldn't he just go on ltir and the cap not count?

Anyone who has ever played hockey could see it clearly. Brad Richards is FINISHED. He had NOTHING last year. No legs, nothing. The lockout was an excuse.

Very disappointed in the organization right now. Another year of BEAVER!!!!!!!! ****!
